Ruckus Wireless Makes Big Moves into Europe with Smart Wireless LAN
Ruckus boosts its European team with ex-Trapeze Employees
23 September, 2008 – Ruckus Wireless, an innovator in next-generation smart Wi-Fi technology, today announced the appointments of three former Trapeze Networks executives to strengthen and support Ruckus Wireless’ fast growing enterprise Wireless LAN business in Europe. Together they bring with them more than 30 years of networking and support experience.
Reinhard Müller, Wolfgang Modrack and Rene van Zijl have all joined the Ruckus Wireless European team from Trapeze Networks. Müller and Modrack are based in Germany and work respectively as presales support manager and enterprise sales manager for Central and Eastern Europe. Van Zijl is now the support manager for EMEA, based in Amsterdam.
"Trapeze was recognized as having a very strong European team so we are very excited to welcome such strong additions to the Ruckus team," said Selina Lo, president and CEO of Ruckus Wireless. “As the company continues to expand, all three appointees bring with them extensive experience with enterprise wireless LANs. They are already helping to provide local support and drive more European-specific initiatives for the company. We are now in a great position to offer best of breed Smart WLAN system with extensive sales and technical support – something that is critical in today’s market with more and more enterprises now looking to take advantage of the benefits of reliable wireless.”
Müller joins Ruckus from Trapeze where he occupied the same presales support position. Prior to this, he held the role of technical account manager at Extreme Networks for more than six years. Müller brings to the position a wealth of expertise in networking after working in the IT industry for more than two decades.
Modrack left his previous role of regional sales manager and channel manager at Trapeze to help build Ruckus’ channel in Central and Eastern Europe. His main role is to continue to develop Ruckus’ strong partner base to specifically target medium sized businesses and vertical markets, such as the healthcare sector.
Van Zijl previously held a service and support manager EMEA role at Trapeze and is now responsible for building Ruckus’ technical support network in EMEA. He has nearly 15 years experience in similar roles for companies such as Xylan/Alcatel and 3COM.
“Ruckus has rapidly established itself with its reliable and affordable wireless solutions, which allows Wi-Fi to become a reality for businesses of all sizes. I’m already seeing how our approach is increasing the mid-market’s interest in Ruckus’ technology,” said Modrack. “It’s an exciting time to join a company that’s gaining ground in a market with so much consolidation.”
